AERZEN & HH2E: Pioneering Green Hydrogen Production in Lubmin
AERZEN and the innovative German company HH2E are joining forces to advance green hydrogen production. Announced at ACHEMA 2024, this partnership aims to develop a large-scale electrolysis plant in Lubmin, Germany, slated to begin operations in 2026.
Leading the Hydrogen Transition
HH2E is a trailblazer in producing hydrogen from renewable sources like wind and solar energy. The upcoming Lubmin plant will initially have a capacity of 100 MW, generating approximately 6,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. By 2030, this capacity is expected to expand to over 1 GW, producing more than 60,000 tonnes per year.
AERZEN's Role: Delivering Cutting-Edge Technology
AERZEN will supply three VRW 536M packages for the Lubmin plant. These compressors, designed for efficient and safe hydrogen compression, feature a volume flow of approximately 4,700 m³/h and a final pressure of 8.0 bar (a). The VRW 536M combines the benefits of oil-free compression with high efficiency, making it ideal for handling large hydrogen volumes and ensuring cost-effective operations.
